| Industry, robotics, architecture, speed, the conquest of space: Futures looks at how the development of modern technology influenced the great artistic movements of the 20th century.

| Exploring mutual links and influences between art and science, literature and film, reality and fiction, Futures is divided into three thematic sections, each represented by a major book/film: the utopian city of Fritz Lang’s Metropolis, the robotic fighting machines from The War of the Worlds, and the notion of escape into the cosmos in Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey.

| Futures includes paintings, sculptures, photographs, installations, and films, with some 100 major works by major leading artists of the last century such as Calder, Ernst, Erró, Klein, Léger, Malevich, Matisse, Miró, Raysse and more.
