FROM A POEM TO THE SUNSET

Since 2013, the Daimler Art Collection has taken on new dimensions with the acquisition of more than 40 artworks by about 20 Chinese artists. Beginning this year, these acquisitions will form the basis of an exhibition series presenting works by contemporary Chinese artists in the context of the Collection.

This « dialogue » between international artistic conceptions will highlight the unique nature of the Collection’s new acquisitions while also revealing parallels and shared artistic concerns.

The first part of the series, From a Poem to the Sunset, is primarily devoted to conceptual tendencies that appeared in contemporary Chinese art in the mid-1980s and which continue to inform the working methods of today’s artists.
