Fondazione Prada opens its new Milan venue to the public on 9 May 2015. The new compound, designed by OMA, led by Rem Koolhaas, is the result of the transformation of a distillery dating back to the 1910’s, expanding the repertoire of spatial typologies in which art can be exhibited and shared with the public. |
Fondazione Prada will present a wide range of activities: Serial Classic, a classical art exhibition conceived by Salvatore Settis, thematic shows An Introduction and In Part comprising artworks from the Prada Collection, site-specific installations by Robert Gober and Thomas Demand and a cinema project conceived by Roman Polanski. Two special projects – the Bar Lucedesigned by film director Wes Anderson and Accademia dei Bambini – will complete the programme. |
Along with the new spaces in Milan, the Fondazione’s Venetian venue will continue to operate in the 18th century palazzo Ca’ Corner della Regina, where the exhibition Portable Classic, curated by Salvatore Settis, will be presented. |
